A Taste of the Huon: Celebrating the Best of The Huon Valley and D’Entrecasteaux Channel region

Established in 1992, A Taste of the Huon is one of Southern Tasmania’s longest running and most beloved outdoor festivals. For over three decades, thousands of visitors have gathered each year to celebrate the rich bounty of the Huon Valley and D'Entrecasteaux Channel region—through local food, beverages, art, craft, produce, and exceptional live entertainment.

What began as a simple showcase of local produce has blossomed into a vibrant two-day event that captures the heart and soul of the region. Visitors flock to the valley each year to sample farm-fresh produce, sip award-winning beverages, and discover the creativity of local artists and makers. From family-friendly activities to captivating performances, A Taste of the Huon offers something for everyone.

Proudly organised by dedicated volunteers, the festival continues to spotlight everything that makes the region unique: our people, our produce, and our passion. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a long-time local, you'll leave with a true taste of the region.

Following the success of the 2025 festival, feedback from attendees and stallholders has inspired an exciting new chapter. This year’s event will introduce a refreshed format, innovative ideas, and expanded opportunities for local participation—while staying true to the heritage and community spirit that have made A Taste of the Huon a cherished tradition.

Still the premier celebration of local produce, talent, and entertainment, A Taste of the Huon remains a place where friends, families, and the wider community come together to enjoy and honour all the wonders of our region.
