Our food
This family-run business specialises in authentic Indian cuisine. From traditional curries and biryanis to tandoori delights, every dish is crafted with the finest ingredients and a perfect blend of spices. Their signature lamb korma, made with premium lamb from Tassie Farms in Grove, showcases their commitment to pairing authentic Indian flavours with Tasmania's finest produce, ensuring a true taste of India.
Where Spain meets Tasmania! Kiltro Street Food are culinary artists crafting authentic Spanish dishes with the finest local ingredients. Using traditional Bomba rice and real saffron, they honour Spanish techniques while celebrating Tasmanian flavour. At the festival, savour their delicious signature paella, showcasing Tassie free-range pork belly & chicken with mushrooms from Southern Caps Mushroom Co as the hero ingredient—a perfect fusion of Spanish tradition and Huon Valley excellence.
Casa Tuga, a family-run Portuguese food stall bringing authentic flavours from their village in Portugal to the Huon. Pairing traditional recipes with local produce, their Pastéis de Nata (Portuguese tarts) feature eggs from their backyard and Sparrow Foot Farm Franklin, while traditional Bifanas (Portuguese pork sandwiches) are served on fresh Bottega Cripps bread. Alongside Portuguese churrasco chicken and chips, every dish celebrates heritage and community through food.
Taco Taco heads south! After 14 years serving the Hobart community, they’re thrilled to join Taste of the Huon for the very first time. They’re bringing a menu that’s a love letter to the Huon Valley—fresh local harvests meeting bold, zesty street food. Working closely with local producers such as Valley Fresh Farm & Appinoka Regenerative Farming - they’ve created exclusive flavours that celebrate the best of the Valley. Expect the same Taco Taco heart you know and love, reimagined for the Huon.
Queen Sheba Injera shares traditional Ethiopian home-style cooking made with care and heart. Built around injera—soft, spongy and gently tangy—their dishes are served with richly spiced stews and vibrant vegetarian and vegan options. This year, they’ll be teaming up with local producers to showcase fresh regional ingredients alongside their warm, generous taste of Ethiopian hospitality.
Rosti Chalet offers a fresh, nutritious menu using Tasmanian sourced and locally produced ingredients—around 95% of their produce is grown, raised or made in Tasmania. Each dish is developed to provide a nutritionally balanced meal and promote the best of our region, featuring Huon Valley potatoes, Tassal smoked salmon, mushrooms grown by Cygnet Larder, bacon from J.B. Nicholas in Geeveston, and Bruny Island pepperberries, with Lesley Black’s chutneys and mustard.
With seven years of passionate wood-fired cooking, The Wood Fiery Redhead continues to evolve, constantly pushing boundaries with new and exciting menus. At this year's event, they're serving a signature smoked lamb burger with Tassie lamb and local Grumpy Bee Honey yoghurt - honey straight from the forests of the Far South - alongside an array of delicious smoked meat rolls and burgers.
Culinary Kitchen makes comfort food from scratch, celebrating Huon Valley produce through house-made sauces, relishes and desserts. Their Berry Chilli Jam features local strawberries and blueberries, while their Apple & Pear Jalapeño Relish showcases the valley's orchard fruits. Signature cookie pies and ice cream sandwiches highlight Huon honey and berries in every delicious bite.
Community-powered and locally sourced! Castle Forbes Bay Recreation Club and Franklin Frosties have joined forces for a gourmet sausage sizzle with a difference. Showcasing premium sausages—including delicious vegetarian options—from Cygnet's M & D Butchers and relishes from Geeveston's Harvest and Light. Every bite supports Art and Music @ the Bay, a free community arts festival.
Stasberry is a vibrant, family-run pop-up inspired by a love of Tasmania, strawberries, and chocolate. Their signature treat features fresh Tasmanian strawberries sourced from local Huon Valley growers, generously coated in warm, melted Belgian-style chocolate. This season, they proudly use Anvers Chocolate made in Latrobe, Tasmania. Each serve celebrates local produce, creativity, and indulgent flavour.
TT Island is a Hobart-based food truck bringing authentic Taiwanese flavours to A Taste of the Huon. They create traditional Taiwanese dishes using fresh Tasmanian ingredients, celebrating the connection between two islands. Their Huon Valley Apple Cold Noodle highlights crisp apples and fresh veggies sourced directly from the Huon region - a refreshing dish perfect for summertime.
Kung Fu Canteen (Kung Fu Dumplings) serves handmade dumplings with fresh, punchy flavours. They’ve created a special dumpling for the festival featuring Huon Valley free-range pork, paired with complementary local ingredients such as apple or seasonal vegetables. Finished with their house-made dipping sauce, it’s a delicious way to let the region’s produce shine in every bite.
Waji Food is led by chef and founder Waji Spiby, with over 35 years creating innovative, high-quality contemporary cuisine. This year, they’re showcasing local scallops from The Channels Garth Seafood, served on the half shell with a Thai crust and finished with Waji’s palm sugar dressing—one of the delicious highlights on their menu this year.
Born and raised in the picturesque Huon Valley, ‘Zen Gelato's Rebecca only came to understand its true beauty after spending time living elsewhere. Coming home opened her eyes. With deep respect and gratitude, she now honours her privileged birthplace by showcasing the exquisite plant life that flourishes throughout this slice of paradise. ‘Zen Gelato celebrates the unique flavours of the Huon Valley, transforming locally grown botanicals and produce into artisan gelato that captures the essence of the region.
Pink Buns brings a vibrant fusion of Asian methods and Western techniques to A Taste of the Huon, transforming classic cuisine into modern culinary art. All their Bao Buns are lovingly handmade with natural phytochemicals and are free from artificial colours. This year, Pink Buns is proud to showcase their signature Huon Valley Lavender Bao Bun, highlighting the beautiful local lavender from our region.
Tassie Sweet and Savoury Stix is a Tasmanian-owned business passionate about using local produce. At A Taste of the Huon, they're serving their famous twisted potatoes with a new smaller kids’ size. This year, they're featuring gourmet seasoning choices from Channel-based Smoked Salts Tasmania, including Pepperberry, Lemon Pepper, Truffle and Garlic—a tasty treat for the whole family.
Handcrafted in Tasmania, Canopy turns the best local ingredients into small-batch flavours that celebrate the seasons. This year, they're presenting two signature Huon Valley flavours: Blueberry & Lavender made with organic blueberries from Something from the Ground (Grove) and lavender from Campo de Flori (Glen Huon), and Apple Brandy infused with Willie Smith's Apple Brandy (Grove). Every element is rooted in the region - from hand-harvested lavender to artisanal spirits. More than dessert; they're a spoonful of the Huon Valley.
Chilean Cuisine Tassie brings the authentic flavours of Chile to Tasmania with their delicious handmade empanadas. This family of six crafts traditional pastries using fresh Tasmanian ingredients. From the classic Pino carne to vegetarian and vegan options, they offer something for every palate. This year, they're featuring cheese from The Bruny Island Cheese Co. in their signature beef and cheese empanadas, delivering a taste of South American culinary heritage with a local twist.
A local Huon business using local ingredients and staff to deliver an innovative experience for customers. Through their partnership with Spekle Park beef farm in North Huon, they showcase premium products using their specially designed smoked meat trailer. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available through support from Cygnet Garden Larder.
Strawberry Delight loves strawberries, especially from Cygnet, and makes them the star of their van. Who doesn't love a loaded cup of strawberries with Nutella, ice cream and cream, or strawberry sauce, sliced strawberries, ice cream and nacho waffles? They offer strawberry ice cream, strawberry loaded shakes made with Tasmanian milk, and of course their other ice cream flavours all topped with fresh strawberries.
Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods is proud to showcase their premium wild-caught fish and lobster, landed at Dover, along with East Coast scallops and squid at A Taste of the Huon 2026. Their menu features award-winning fish and chips, as well as crowd favourites such as pepperberry squid and crunchy taste-size beer-battered lobster pops. Fresh, local seafood at its finest.
A family-based business from Kingston serving freshly cooked pancakes on-site with various sweet toppings. They source their strawberries from the Huon Valley and make their own homemade organic lemon curd, bringing quality local ingredients to every delicious stack.
Showcasing Cygnet mushrooms, Festival Tempura Mushrooms are always a hit with the young and old. Paired with their homemade sauces using local ingredients and battered in their secret recipe using Tasmanian flour, they pride themselves on being a Tasmanian business supporting Tasmanian businesses. Serving gluten-free, vegan and dairy-free options, there is something for everyone.
Introducing Chocolia’s lovingly handmade baked goods and nut spreads! They are proud to be based in Tasmania, with deep roots in southern Italy. They’ve blended cultural traditions and love of good food to bring you a delicious range of baked sweets and nut spreads. Their Apple & Cinnamon Hearts are a delightful cookie‑pie filled with Huon Valley apples — so soft and comforting they practically melt in your mouth. You’ll also find Tasmanian influences shining through in their gourmet cookies and sweet cannoli. A local favourite, Benny's Burger Bar creates mouth-watering burgers using the Huon Valley's finest local ingredients. Proudly partnering with regional producers, they showcase seasonal produce in every juicy burger and crispy fry - authentic local flavour on the go!
Bruny Island Oysters Tasmania has been serving freshly shucked oysters straight from the farm for over eight years. They pride themselves on freshness and quality, using as much locally sourced product as possible to make all their sauces, including micro greens from K and D Family Farm in Gardners Bay. Their mission is to showcase how amazing Bruny Island oysters are and celebrate the quality of locally grown produce. Come and taste the difference that fresh, local ingredients make.
Formosa Bites is a Taiwanese food stall from Marion Bay bringing authentic street food flavours to A Taste of the Huon. This year, they're celebrating the region's exceptional produce, featuring Willie Smith's organic apples, Southern Caps Mushroom's lion's mane, and Our Mates’ Farm organic pork. Try their famous charcoal-grilled Squidlipop, slow-cooked Spiced Pork Rice Bowl, or their aromatic Chilli Crisp Noodle Salad. With gluten-free and dairy-free options available, there's something delicious for everyone.
Storm Bay Donuts is a locally owned, Kingston-based business celebrating the best of southern Tasmania. They craft fresh, indulgent donuts using produce sourced from the Huon Valley and Kingborough region - including Huon Valley apples, locally made vegan chocolate, and a seasonal range inspired by Tasmanian gins and liqueurs from Cygnet. Every bite showcases local flavour, community and a little bit of fun.
The Ember Box is a cherished family-run wood-fired pizza van celebrating Tasmania’s bounty with premium local ingredients wherever available. For A Taste of the Huon this year, they’re serving a special Braised Lamb Pizza made with local lamb from Clifton Farm—a delicious festival bite, fresh from the wood-fired oven.

Taste the spirit with Island Coast Spirits, award-winning distillers of vodkas, rums, whiskies, gins, and low-carbonation, low-alcohol, gluten-free ready-to-drink cans. World gold and silver medal winners, their spirits are distilled from the finest Tasmanian ingredients, with a focus on Huon Valley produce including pepperberries, lavender, ginger, honey, haskap berries, limes, and chillies. Cascade Brewery, Australia's oldest continuously operating brewery and a true Tasmanian icon, returns as a valued sponsor of A Taste of the Huon. Established in 1824, their passionate brewers craft beers using 100% Tasmanian barley and hops. Their heritage Cascade Truck will be pouring fresh tap beers all weekend.
Frank’s Cider is a multi-award-winning range of clear, sparkling ciders made from 100% Tasmanian apples, pears, cherries, and raspberries. The Clark family has grown apples and pears in Franklin, in Tasmania’s Huon Valley, since 1836, with the cider named after Frank Clark, a third-generation orchardist who planted many of the trees still harvested today by the fifth and sixth generations.
Summerleas Distillery is a boutique, family-owned gin distillery established in 2018 in the southern foothills of Mt Wellington and is recognised as one of Tasmania’s premier gin-only producers. Using locally sourced and home-grown botanicals, their award-winning London Dry gins have earned national and international gold medals and are featured in a range of fresh, handcrafted cocktails.
Stukies Brewing Company is a family-run craft brewery based in Kingston, Tasmania, founded by a father and son-in-law who turned a homebrewing passion developed during COVID lockdowns into a commercial brand. They currently produce two core beers—a clean, crisp Modern Lager and a bright, fruit-forward Pale Ale—both designed to pair well with food and casual occasions.
T-Bone Brewing Co. crafts flavour-driven beers from their Huntingfield brewery in the Channel region. For three years, they've been producing balanced, approachable beers full of character. Taking a hands-on approach from recipe creation to packaging, T-Bone delivers memorable brews designed for casual drinkers and craft enthusiasts alike.
Ivy Lane Espresso is an independent coffee stall serving freshly brewed coffee crafted from locally roasted Zimmah beans. They care for the environment and your caffeine needs, delivering quality coffee with every cup. Perfect for keeping you energised while you explore all that A Taste of the Huon has to offer.
Pure Mist from Geeveston is a multi-award-winning water and gin producer with a focus on 'Mist Water Extraction' in the winter months of the Huon Valley. They are twice winner (2023 and 2025) of the Fine Water Society's World's Best Sparkling Water. They are winner of the 2025 International Water Tasting Competition Guangzhou and winner of the 2024 Distilled Spirits Awards for their Lemon Myrtle, Mediterranean and Raspberry straight gins and G and T, Raspberry Gin and Lemonade premixed products.
L’appel Wines is the wine project of emerging Tasmanian vignerons Bart Johnston and Jess Nuel. Sourcing fruit from highly regarded plots around Tasmania, including the Huon Valley, regional expression is at the core of the L’appel suite. Their winemaking is light-handed, with wild-fermented, unfiltered wines.
Willie Smith's Tasmanian is proudly rooted in the heart of the Huon Valley, where four generations of the Smith family have grown apples in the region's rich soil and cool climate. Every cider they make is crafted on-site, from tree to can. Their apples travel only 27 steps from orchard to press, allowing them to capture the freshness, flavour and honesty of Huon Valley fruit. They draw on their values of community, nature, connection and folklore to produce ciders that are unmistakably Tasmanian.
Pagan Cider began in 2012 from a small home brewing operation. Their ethos is to produce ciders that highlight the Huon Valley and its fruits. They came out with one of the first all-natural cherry ciders in the country, the Cerise or simply cherry cider, which is made completely from Huon Valley cherries, with no added sugars. Alongside their other core ciders, the Apple, Pear and Blueberry, Pagan Cider also enjoys creating seasonal ciders such as Quince, Raspberry and Plum to again highlight what's on offer and what is possible from their amazing region and Tasmania.
White Morph Mead is bringing an ancient beverage into the 21st century by making a range of meads from beautiful Tasmanian honey. From light and refreshing through to complex sippers, they're having fun combining different flavours to produce unique and delicious mead. They are a family-owned business based in Kettering in the wonderful D'Entrecasteaux Channel. They love to make use of high-quality local produce to craft delicious meads.
Tasmaniac Distillers are a trio of country-living, folk-singing, and banjo-stringing mates, distilling down in Cygnet in southern Tasmania. Their flavours represent the Huon Valley by collaborating with local producers, farmers, and foragers. With inspiration from Scandinavia, they've distilled Antarctic Aquavit, the world's most southern produced Aquavit. Each spirit captures the essence of the island and showcases the distinctive flavours of the Huon Valley.
Home Hill is an award-winning boutique winery nestled in the Huon Valley, just 30 minutes from Hobart. Surrounded by vineyards and countryside with magnificent Mt. Wellington views, they've been crafting exceptional cool-climate wines for 35 years. Their prestigious Pinot Noirs have won Australia's most coveted wine awards.
Oyster Cove Brewing (previously Tasmanian Chilli Beer Company) brews a large range of low-sugar, fresh and fruity, and sometimes spicy, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. They use local raspberries, lemons, hops, blackcurrants, leatherwood honey and chillies to traditionally brew uniquely Tasmanian sparkling drinks. Their popular ginger beers are smooth and very gingery, some brewed with chilli, some with hops, others mixed with their own spiced rum. Their ripe and luscious Raspberry Sparkling is not too sweet and their Gin, Tang and Spice is tangy, with a hint of chilli. They have a drink for every palate!
Mountain River Distillery is the dream of husband-and-wife team Ben and Steph. The idea for a distillery was first born over afternoon drinks at Ben’s family farm in Mountain River. After years of research, travel and life getting in the way, they took the leap in 2021 to commit to distilling and have been enjoying every moment since. They are passionate young distillers, continuously inspired by the botanicals of the Huon Valley, with a goal to share this beautiful region with the world one sip at a time.
The Groombridge family has operated Trial Bay Orchard for over 70 years, traditionally growing fruit for domestic and export markets. After a devastating fire destroyed their packing and storage facilities in 2019, the next generation reinvented the family business by launching Mr Bridges. Today, Mr Bridges produces fresh apple beverages, including three ciders and a sparkling apple juice, with more to come.
Kate Hill Wines, established in 2008, sits on the edge of Huonville producing elegant cool-climate wines from their two Huon Valley vineyards, Four Winds and The Glen. Their minimal intervention philosophy showcases the highest quality fruit, creating wines of character and expression that tell the story of the valley.
Blue Sage has been serving coffee and treats across Tasmania since 2019. They pour coffee made with beans from renowned Hobart roasters Villino and milk from Bream Creek, alongside homemade hot chocolate, chai lattes and a selection of teas. Cold drinks include juices, soft drinks and milkshakes with lashings of ice cream.
Our artisan arts and crafts
Franklin-based artist Fiona Forshaw captures Tasmania's stunning beauty through oil and watercolour paintings. Her work celebrates Tasmanian gourmet food, quirky wildlife, and landscapes, creating art designed to bring a smile to anyone's face. Available as prints, cards, tea towels, and tote bags, her accessible and affordable art represents the joy of living in the Huon Valley.
Nearipah Dreaming is a Huon Valley based Aboriginal business grounded in culture, Country, and community. Amanda creates and sells handmade cultural items that carry story, meaning, and connection to Country. Each piece is crafted with care and respect, reflecting traditional knowledge, cultural practices, and the natural materials of the region. Alongside handmade items, she also sells books that help share voices, preserve knowledge, and strengthen understanding of culture and place.
Liz Bennett creates hand built and wheel-thrown ceramic pieces in her studio in the beautiful Huon Valley. She loves making large indoor and outdoor sculptures and functional pieces for around your home. Each piece is handmade in the Huon Valley, celebrating the artistry and craftsmanship that comes from creating in this inspiring region.
Bella Rose Florist, based in Huonville, brings a little pocket of beauty to the festival. Their stall is filled with fresh, seasonal blooms sourced from local flower farms all within 20 minutes, chosen for quality and fragrance. Alongside the flowers, they offer a curated range of handmade gifts from talented Huon Valley and Channel makers—perfect for thoughtful gifting.
Amy & Ella's Handmade Earrings is a heartfelt Tasmanian business based in the beautiful Huon Valley. What began as a creative connection between mother and daughter has grown into a thriving small business celebrating individuality and creativity. Each piece is lovingly handmade using high-quality polymer clay, resin and hypoallergenic findings. The Huon Valley's peaceful surroundings and lush landscapes inspire the colours, textures and calmness reflected in every unique design.
Michelle Winter lives in the forests of Nicholls Rivulet and has called the Huon Valley home for over 30 years. Inspired by Tasmania’s landscapes, she handcrafts jewellery in 100% recycled sterling silver, featuring mountain range silhouettes. She also fossicks and polishes Tasmanian gemstones, setting them into unique, Huon Valley-made designs.
A family-run business from the Huon Valley, creating unique hand-burnt designs on wool and vegan suede hats—no lasers, all original—plus stunning crystal-beaded jewellery. Joining in is Noah, 10, who built his own brand of quirky T-shirts featuring his fun cartoon designs. The apple and Tassie devil are crowd favourites! Authentic, handmade, and proudly Tasmanian.
Satinwood Creations is a producer of leather goods from the Huon Valley. Every piece is handmade, hand sewn and designed by Christine utilising only full grain cow and kangaroo leather. Christine produces a large range of products that includes purses, handbags, bracelets, belts plus one of her favourites, lots of costume masks and so much more.
Totally Rusty is a family-owned business devoted to handmade craftsmanship. All of our pieces begin as hand-drawn designs and are individually cut by hand with a plasma cutter—giving every item its own unique character.
Fancy Freeze Tasmania is a proud Huon Valley business capturing the pure taste of Tasmania in every bite. Using locally grown, organic Huon Valley fruit—much of it from their own orchard—they craft premium freeze-dried products that celebrate the region's natural abundance. Alongside fruit, they offer freeze-dried Tasmanian ice cream and a playful range of freeze-dried lollies, showcasing the freshness, creativity and vibrant spirit of the Huon Valley.
Phoenix Creations ethically source timber locally and create in their studio in Cygnet. They hope to inspire and educate people about traditional carving techniques, the cultural heritage of green wood carving, and how artists can create with a low environmental impact. Their line includes hand-carved wooden spoons, other utensils, kuksas, bowls and boxes, wall art, pendants and earrings.
AC3D started in the Huon Valley, creating durable sensory tools through 3D printing. Each piece is printed from sustainably sourced plant-based bioplastic and hand-finished for strength and quality. Living with ADHD inspired the creation of purposeful tools that support focus and calm. By producing high-quality items from raw materials locally, AC3D proves that small-scale manufacturing can thrive in regional Tasmania.
Slow Intentions is an eco-conscious home and living brand created by husband and wife team Jodie and Brendan Walker. Having relocated from Brisbane to the Huon Valley in May 2024, they've fallen in love with the region and its like-minded community. Brendan hand-turns unique stem vases, pens and desk clocks using locally sourced sustainable timbers. Jodie crochets zero-waste items from natural, compostable fibres, alongside hand-poured scented soy candles reflecting Tasmania's beauty.
Geckostrands showcases Tasmanian handmade and grown products, transformed into one-of-a-kind wearable pieces. All of their dyes are created from natural materials—eucalypts, muds, and tannins—that are sustainably grown, gathered, and prepared on their property in Franklin in the Huon Valley. Every item reflects Tasmania’s natural environment and values of sustainability, while adding value through design and craftsmanship.
Y Knot Woodturning hail from our gorgeous Huon Valley and they’re dedicated to creating exceptional pieces using Tasmania’s remarkable timbers, starting with a log and letting its natural beauty inspire them to produce one-of-a-kind items for your appreciation.
Fluturi is a kids' clothing label handmade by Rebecca in her Castle Forbes Bay studio. Drawing inspiration from the local natural environment and her cottage garden, she creates fun, comfy and classic baby and kids wear from a fabulous fabric collection. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted from 100% cotton with comfort, durability and playfulness in mind. Sizes range from tiny baby 000 to size 8, perfect for everyday adventures or special moments.
Leewood Woodcraft showcases the raw beauty of Tasmania's native timbers through distinctive handcrafted pieces. Specialising in naturally edged and burl timber products, this local artisan creates one-of-a-kind items that celebrate the unique character of each piece of wood. Whether functional homewares or decorative pieces, Leewood Woodcraft brings the warmth and authenticity of Tasmania's forests into your home, with each item shaped by nature and finished by skilled hands.
Funny Faces Hobart has been a firm favourite at A Taste of the Huon for years. Run by the wonderful Vanessa, she brings colour, creativity and plenty of smiles with her much-loved face painting. Consistently voted one of Hobart's top face painters!
Our entertainment
Our Sunday headliner is one of Australia’s premier songsmiths. Multi-award-winning country music artist, Andrew Swift, celebrates the long road, love, and family on his fourth album, ‘Lucky Stars’.
Catch Mental As Anything live at A Taste of the Huon, celebrating 50 years of iconic Australian music. With original members Reg Mombassa and Peter O’Doherty reunited, expect a hit-packed set featuring Live It Up, If You Leave Me, Can I Come Too? and more.

Based in the Huon Valley since 2022, they've made global impact—leading two world records that contributed to the establishment of International Day of Women in Beekeeping. Arad produces his speciality products at Five Bob Farm in Birchs Bay and is passionate about using local ingredients, including walnuts, blueberries and native pepper. His products are based on variations on the traditional Persian recipes of his Mother. He has arrived in Tasmania after a long and difficult journey from his native Iran, and has established a much-loved market business, seen weekly at Salamanca and Farm Gate Market.
