Rebecca + James

Rebecca Hancock and James Vicary are a talented duo who have been playing together since moving to Tasmania almost a decade ago. They deliver a captivating mix of bluesy, soulful original songs and covers, drawing on decades of musical experience from the local and national music scene.

Rebecca has been singing and playing in bands since she was a teenager, contributing to many recordings including two albums of her own material with her band The Prison Wives. She fronted popular Sydney bands Watusi Now and Paris Pink, and has toured nationally and internationally with Ed Kuepper's band, The Yard Goes On Forever.

James has played bass in a number of impressively loud bands since he was a lad, including Idol Jest, Pol Pot and the Regimes, Neuro Surgeons, Moods of Rex and The Mighty Resonators.

After moving to Tasmania almost a decade ago, they joined with talented local Dover musicians to form Los Pescadores. Rebecca has also performed with the Superb Blue Wrens at the Clarence Jazz Festival and at the Festival of Small Halls. The vibrant Southern Tasmanian music scene enables them to play in several local bands, and they always enjoy the opportunity to work together as a duo.
