Zinnia Blue
Zinnia Blue are an alt-country/Americana duo from Cygnet, Tasmania, featuring interweaving guitars and two-part harmonies. They create sparse, brooding melodies and lyrical, uplifting ballads that reinterpret country, folk and old-time music traditions. Their unique sound is captured in their debut album The Garden.
The heart of Zinnia Blue is married couple Kate Tucker and Matt Ellis, who write and arrange their music together, creating a sound that is at once delicate, earthy, emotional and fierce. They released their debut album The Garden at the Cygnet Folk Festival in 2020 and have since established themselves as a unique and familiar act around the Huon Valley. You may have also seen them on Episode 1 of Season 12 of Grand Designs Australia with their Earthship-inspired owner-built and designed home. At A Taste of the Huon, they'll be joined by local music legend Peter Kaukiainen on fiddle.
